KZN farmers badly affected by floods, determined for assist

Farmers misplaced infrastructure, crops and a few of their livestock and had been determined for assist.
The Agriculture Division within the province met with farmers organisations to debate the best way ahead.
On Shazini Farm, farmers misplaced a bridge which related their properties.
“The operation has come to a standstill as a result of, sadly when the floods occurred, they took away three of our bridges that we now have on the farm and the tractors that we use to work on the fields are actually trapped on the opposite aspect and can’t go throughout,” Shazini proprietor Gugu Mthembu, who runs the farm along with her husband advised Eyewitness Information.
Agriculture MEC Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi inspected the farm on Thursday and met with different farmers.
