JSU’s Elayne Anthony appointed incoming president of the Mississippi Affiliation of Broadcasters

Elayne H. Anthony, Ph.D., chair of the Division of Journalism and Media Research at Jackson State College (JSU), is the newly appointed incoming president of the Mississippi Affiliation of Broadcasters.  Anthony, the primary journalism educator within the state to carry the place, will start her time period in 2023.

“I’m so proud to signify Mississippi Broadcasters because the incoming president. I want to thank JSU

for supporting me on this superior place,” stated Anthony.

Anthony has been a professor at JSU for greater than 10 years, first serving as director of Graduate Research for the Division of Mass Communications and later appointed head of the division.  Beneath her management, the division acquired nationwide accreditation from the Accrediting Council on Training in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Anthony beforehand served as professor of communications and chair of the Division of Communications at Belhaven College. A local of Jackson, she initially made a reputation for herself as the primary African-American feminine information anchor on WJTV Channel 12.

Anthony earned each her bachelor of science and grasp’s levels at JSU. She obtained her Ph.D. in organizational communication broadcast legislation on the College of Southern Illinois, Carbondale.
