PM Mottley, IOC President discuss road tennis – Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation

The advancement of road tennis onto the world stage was one of the topics discussed today between Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach.

The Olympic boss was at Ilaro Court earlier today along with Sports Minister Charles Griffith and officials from the Barbados Olympic Association and the National Sports Council, after arriving in the island just last night as part of three-day official visit.

Discussions between the two leaders also included gender issues, and removing duties on sports equipment.

Mr. Bach was also scheduled to make a courtesy call on the President of Barbados, Her Excellency the Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason.

There’s also a reception planned for the IOC President this evening at the BOA headquarters in Wildey.

Bach is the third IOC President to visit Barbados since the BOA was recognized by the IOC in 1955.

His visit is part of an overall tour of Central America and the Caribbean.
