Victor Wembanyama held an NBA Draft lottery party in Paris on Tuesday and went viral due to a video of him standing next to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.
The San Antonio Spurs won the No. 1 overall pick and are slated to draft Wemby, who will follow the path forged by two franchise legends such as David Robinson and Tim Duncan, both number one selections made by the organization.

Wembanyama, 19, is officially listed at 7-foot-2, but he has previously stated that his real height is 7-foot-4.
Some media outlets have even listed the Frenchman at 7-foot-5 and claim that he’s not done growing.
He is considered to be one of the greatest talents of his generation and the most-hyped draft prospect since LeBron James.
How Wembanyama experienced the NBA Draft lottery
Mbappe, 24, attended his compatriot’s special event. They had already met in the past and the PSG star has been seen courtside at Wemby’s basketball games, including one a night prior to the draft.
The video of their most recent meeting was shared by NBA France on Twitter and already has over one million views.
Wembanyama followed the lottery at an event with his family and friends until past 2 o’clock in the morning.
“My heart is pounding. It’s a very special moment that I will remember for the rest of my life,” Wembanyama said.
